P.W.A. <em>International Advisor<\/em> for U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acclaimed by the American critics as &#8220;the greatest talent of the last 30 years&#8221;, the<br>pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi it has established itself internationally after winning<br>prestigious awards in competitions Van Cliburn and Cleveland in the USA, and<br>Marguerite Long in Paris.<br>New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Le Figaro, Chicago Tribune are just some of the<br>publications that they spent words of great admiration for his pianism.<br>He regularly performs in the most prestigious halls of five continents. Among the<br>cities touched in yours tours include New York (Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center),<br>Paris (Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, Theater des Champs-Elysees, Salle Cortot), London,<br>Stuttgart, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston,<br>Milan, Auckland, Philadelphia, Miami, and Johannesburg.<br>Among the highlights of his career, Pompa-Baldi performed the<br>Rachmaninoff&#8217;s Second Concerto with the Houston Symphony, conducted by<br>Austrian master Hans Graf; he played Tchaikovsky&#8217;s Primo with the Philharmonic<br>Orchestra Ukrainian national team in Kiev; he made his Tokyo debut with the<br>Berliner Symphoniker; he played Shostakovich&#8217;s Primo with Alison Balsom and the<br>Colorado Symphony; he performed the full cycle of Rachmaninoff&#8217;s concerts with<br>the Cape Town Philharmonic, South Africa; has inaugurated the first Lang Lang<br>festival in Shenzhen, China, at the invitation of the famous Chinese pianist; he<br>performed the integral of Beethoven&#8217;s five concerts in three evenings with the<br>Fresno Philharmonic and maestro Theodore Kuchar; he performed the concert in A<br>for the American premiere minor by Ottorino Respighi, a work that he later also<br>recorded on disc.<br>In the field of chamber music, Pompa-Baldi regularly participates in<br>festivals all over the world, collaborating among others with the quartets &#8220;Cavani&#8221;<br>and &#8220;Takacs&#8221;, members of the Juilliard Quartet, and first parts of the orchestras of<br>Cleveland, Dallas, Chicago and New York Philharmonic.<br>Pompa-Baldi was the protagonist of two television documentaries broadcast on<br>television American and Canadian public, and has performed several times for<br>national televisions of the countries of the European Union. His live concerts and his<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>records are regularly broadcast from major radio stations around the world,<br>including Italian, English, German, American, Canadian, French, Polish and Chinese.<br>In addition to a disc for Harmonia Mundi, which contains live performances<br>recorded during the Van Cliburn Competition, Pompa-Baldi has recorded over 30<br>CDs. Between these, a disc with music by Brahms; one with the sonatas of Josef<br>Rheinberger; the integral of compositions for piano and chamber music by Edward<br>Grieg in 12 volumes; a disc dedicated to Rachmaninoff; the complete Hummel<br>sonatas on three CDs; a record with music by Robert Schumann; 2 CDs dedicated to<br>Liszt.<br>One of his most original recording projects, released in September 2013 from the<br>Steinway house, it is a tribute to Francis Poulenc and Edith Piaf. Next to the<br>Poulenc&#8217;s own arrangements of pieces for voice and piano, the recording presents<br>10 concert elaborations of famous songs by Edith Piaf, prepared by Maestro Roberto<br>Piana.<br>In 2003, Pompa-Baldi received two prestigious awards: the title of Steinway artist,<br>and nominated him, for clear fame, as \u201cDistinguished Professor of Piano \u201dat the<br>Cleveland Institute of Music, a conservatory where he still teaches today.<br>In the summer of 2006 he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of<br>Beijing National Conservatory of China. Over the years he has received the same<br>recognition from the University of Wenzhou, the Shanghai Conservatory and the<br>Shenyang Conservatory.<br>He has been jury president at the San Jose International Piano Competition in<br>California since 2006.
